Not everywhere and not all refugees are accepted
Since only 5 out of 16 possible states accept Ukrainians in Germany, there is an opinion that Germany is already tired of refugees and will eventually stop accepting them altogether. And refugees who are already in Germany will not be extended their stay.
But has Germany really reconsidered its attitude towards refugees?
In Germany, there is an excited mood regarding the economic situation, inflationary processes and social policy in general. But such sentiments have always existed, because there are always dissatisfied residents. Even if this happens, it does not directly apply to refugees.
Besides, if you put aside sympathy for Ukrainians because of war and danger, Germany benefits from the influx of migrants. After all, the country has a low birth rate, and more than half of the population is of working age. Therefore, Ukrainians with a European mentality and a good education are an ideal option to fill jobs.
The only thing was that faster integration was expected on the part of Ukrainians. That is, language acquisition and employment are much faster. However, today, due to bureaucratic issues on the part of Germany and the reluctance of some refugees to quickly integrate, we have a situation where less than 40% of Ukrainians who arrived in Germany are employed.
That is, we can conclude that those who want to work and learn the language will always find their place in Germany and will not have any difficulties.
Prove that you are from Ukraine
If you would like to change your country of residence from, for example, Poland to Germany, you will most likely be denied protection. Or you must prove that you were really in the territory of Ukraine until February 24 inclusive. This can be done by attaching a purchase receipt or other document that will be indicated to you by the migration service.
Extension of stay in Germany for 2024
And now to the issue of extension of stay. We have already given a lot of information on this topic. For the time being, the right, according to §24, to protection for up to 3 years remains unchanged. This means that everyone under this paragraph must extend their stay in Germany for one more year.
But in the event that the German government changes or annuls this decision, the extension of stay will not be possible for everyone.
The decision will probably be made individually, for this you will have to submit a package of documents upon request, including certificates about the results of language exams, about taking an exam on the "life in Germany" course, and an employment contract. Also, they will look at whether you receive any benefits and how much, whether you have fines and offenses and so on.
But it is worth remembering that the EU and Germany are interested in able-bodied people to fill the deficit on the labor market. And while it is dangerous to send refugees back, everyone should extend their stay.
